Core Mission

As a Co-Founder of the US Greens and first to register the Green Party with the Federal Election Commission in 1983, I am campaigning to put the green back in the Green Party2024.  The maelstrom of the 2024 United States Presidential race rocks the core of the USA soul. Like the Red Spot-on Jupiter but much more like the climate and hurricane impacts ravaging the United States with hundreds dead last year and in Hawaii 2023. US Greens on the ballot are viable options for voters in both uncontested and contested states. I say no safe state deal. The Democrat Party will not hold US Greens on a leash in contested states. Time to take the gloves off. And finally Greens at all levels of electoral politics need to push for ranked choice voting and proportional representation for state legislatures

Three key positions

 !) Ecologism economics:   In the 1970's I coined a term ecologism to describe the political manifestations of ecology. The whole process was impacted by the Ecology Party in the UK that is now the Green Party.  A political party cannot be the same as science, thus the need for political term ecologism. This alternative to capitalism, socialism and communism is perfect for putting the green back in the Green Party.  Ecosoftware and Green IT are the future.

2) Foreign Policy-Focus on the International Green Party alliance to pressure the UN to hold war crimes tribunals for Israeli Government officials.  Billions of US taxpayer dollars go to Israel on the backs of the US Middle Class. 

Step up campaign against Hollywood, West Coast Tech, Wall Street and New York Mass media for supporting the Government of Israel.

3) Inflation and Coastal Elites in Democrat Party-Challenge Coastal elites running the US Democrat Party that are anti-Midwestern and anti-Southern.  Bioregionalism is the future, the US banking system helps only US coasts. Inflation is devouring the Middle Class like a great White Shark.

Organizing Goals   

 I have expertise in UC Unified Communications and want to keep branding the same across platforms, especially in Social Media.  As a Co-Founder of the US Green Party I want to reach out to US Greens who have been organizing decades blended with new fresh Green politicians who in the future will be carrying the US Green Party forward.  Yes, with the down ballot strategy center stage, and all the Presidential campaigns including my own in coordination with State Green Party officials. 

Party Building

US Mass Coverage, especially television, is important in building the US Green Party. Places like Florida with the Green Party have a very secure ballot access for the Presidential race, not so much an issue. But getting extensive TV coverage in North Dakota or New York City could tip the scales. I believe my expertise in mass media and my opponent Cornel West will serve the US Green Party long term interests well in down ballot organizing. 

Unifying the Party

Focus on Rank Choice Voting and Proportional Representation will add ideological glue to putting the green back in the US Green Party.  Ecologism economics blended with Eco-Socialism offers more stability to avoid the left-right quicksand for the greens.

History in the Green Party

My journey with the US Greens is much different than Nader or Stein's experience. When I began organizing the US Green Party and holding public meetings in Los Angeles, Washington DC and Chicagoland in the very early eighties there was no Green Party to join. I was the first to register the Green Party with the Federal Election Commission and set up a bank account. At this moment in history the Citizen's Party was active with many Greens supporting that path electorally in the United States.  As the US Greens evolved and matured the splits between factions became more manageable, less of a distraction.  Rather than challenge Nader in 1996 I chose to run for Mayor of Aurora, which is Illinois's 2nd largest city. Local TV stations would bring this up in interviews if I was running against Nader for President. I have the old TV tapes I'll be posting. 

 Today I am proud to be a recently reelected Co-Chair of the Green Party of Florida. I am excited about the upcoming Presidential Race and primaries. Let's join together and put the green back in the Green Party 2024.
